We sure have learned a lot about frozen lakes that we never knew before:- It is always colder by the unfrozen section of the lake--How is that possible?
- Teenagers from the nearby high school carry a big pile of snow to the pier, so they can have contests to see who can throw snowballs the farthest. See the snowballs waaay out on the lake? They roll for a while when they land. It kind of looks like a game of marbles. Cool!
- It is fun (for Bill!) to throw big rocks onto the ice to see if it will break through! Even tho it looks very solid here, when we walked on it, there was a squishy sound from under the ice, and it all moved in one piece with each step. Scary!
- Cyotes like to take a shortcut across the snow-covered-ice---see the tracks? Nifty!
- We can never get enough time watching eagles! It is neat that we live in a place where it is cold enough for the eagles to be here in the winter!
