Isn't this a cool piece of wood? Remember the knots on the trees in the movie Poltergeist? It is easy to imagine faces in this wood! Diane is thankful to have felt well enough for going all around the lake again--she missed that this summer when she has been so sick.
Bill is saying,"Oh, you think you need a treat for not growling at that dog that passed us, do you?" HoneyBear knows who has treats in their pockets and when she deserves one!
