On corner #1, (south-west), you will see the prettiest gas station in town. What makes it prettiest? you may ask. Well, 4 things: a) they always fly a U.S. flag, b) the landscaping is pretty with lots of fir trees, ...
...c) there is this lovely eagle statue that wears an army helmet, santa hat, etc. on special occasions, and let's look a little closer...
d) and, yes, the gas prices are way down, even in little 'ol Show Low! Can that be true? Let's check the other sign...
Yep! There are gas stations with lower prices in town, but even if you chose the prettiest gas station in town, you could pay this low, low price!!! Now, some of you, we know, have been saying, "We aren't sure if we can/will come for Thanksgiving/Bill's Birthday....if only the gas prices were lower..." Well, you got your wish! They got lower! We personally usually visit another gas station for their lower prices, but we enjoy driving by this one frequently to admire the eagle, and to say, "Isn't that just the prettiest gas station?" Now, for the other 3 corners...
Corner #2: Across the street from the gas station today, we found Diane walking our dog, being happy that it is chilly enough for her favorite sweatshirt and earmuffs. Of course, this corner will not always have Diane and HoneyBear walking on it!
Corner #3: This lovely LDS Stake Center is on the property where: we know the guy whose eagle project was doing the work that beautified it; there was a cooperation between the city and the Church to sponsor the beautification project, and; the Welcome to Show Low sign is. Yes, this is a great corner, too. We visit this corner every Sunday, and sometimes other days too.
Aaaaand, Corner #4: "The Victorian". They have lovely lights during the Holidays, and it is a good landmark for giving directions, and we visit there once a month to pay our water bill. It sure is fun to walk to pay a bill in a lovely restored building with neat antiques everywhere!

And if this seems a little like a thinly veiled hint for an RSVP, then that means we are hoping to hear from you but don't want to nag. And if you have already RSVP'd we are either looking forward to seeing you or are going to miss you but understand. And, if you are worried about gas prices up here, we hope we have allayed your fears. And if you think we do strange things for fun, you are right, and we are happy.
