A Canyon walk with Dad!

One day during our visit, Dad took Bill and I and the dogs up Manti Canyon for a walk. (Mother was teaching piano lessons. Her students sound great, by the way.)

This seems to be the only photo with Tag in it---my Dad's dog. Tag and HoneyBear had a grand time. They managed to find all sorts of remains of furry animals to chew on---Aaack! I think Bill was telling HoneyBear to drop this one or she was going back to Dad's Jeep!

This pile of rocks was made by some friends of my parents, who carried a rock each time up to this spot on their daily walks! We visited with them a little later on, and they said that the pile was that big before their mission, and when they got back someone had dismantled it. So, they started over! Cool idea! Out of daily small things, great things CAN come to pass! Did you notice the light color of the rocks? The quarry that the stone for the Manti Temple came from is on the other side of this mountain---beautiful stone that reflects light very well. The Temple looks so pretty all lit up at night---you can see it for many miles outside of town. (In a blog entry from last year, June, you can see photos of the Temple.)

HoneyBear gnawed on this skeleton for quite a while. It is some sort of skull with part of the backbone still attached---maybe a deer. She sure had a good time with that---we were just glad that she didn't get sick from it. Somehow she hasn't been quite as interested in her rawhide chewbones since. They must not be as yummy to a dog as the real thing!

Dad and Bill swapping stories as they walked...We sure had fun, Dad. Thanks!
