I somehow had the idea that all reservation lands were very much like the scenes around Page, Kanab and so forth. But the road to Lukachukai has got some different views than I expected! Once a month or so, as part of my job in the Chinle area, I get to drive to the Lukachukai area to visit some students there. Three of us, a speech therapist, a preschool teacher/Headstart coordinator and I go out together. I can't wait till Bill and I can explore some of the sights near here---It'll be fun! And Lukachukai is such a fun word to say---Luke-a-CHOO-kai.
