We have enjoyed selling items Diane makes at local .Farmers Markets several times a month lately! We have met tons of great people, and make enough money to help make ends meet a little better, too. Besides jewelry, we sell crocheted shopping/beach bags, beaded socks for little girls, flag pins that Grandpa Bill makes out of safety pins/tiny beads, and pioneer bonnets in 3 sizes!
Bill has great skills in using bungee cords to keep displays from falling down on windy days! He and grandson Kendall make a great set-up and take-down team, so Grandma Diane doesn't end up with heat exhaustion anymore. There is a Farmers Market close enough to us each week Wednesdays thru Saturdays, so we try to sell once or twice a week. Works out well for when visitors want to visit---we just choose a different day! When the manager of one market saw the crocheted shopping bags, she asked me to make a similar carrier to hold hand sanitizer in the port-a-john. We pinned a plastic-covered business card to it, so we get advertising and a free space rental out of the deal! We have already had several people come to thank us for putting the hand sanitizer there, then they stop to shop---who knew that advertising in a port-a-john could be lucrative?!!!
So, that is what we have been up to lately, how about you?
