Father's Day Fun!

Father's Day Sunday started out with a visit from our friends and Home Teachers, the Willards.  Of course, HoneyBear thinks that the only reason they come is to see her!  (Don't worry, we supplied Roque with a lint roller to get the fur off his suit, before he went to church!)
After church, Robert, Holly, and their children came for a visit.
After hugs, Carter, Gabby and Nate head for their kitchen.  They are so fun to listen to in their pretending!
Then Kevin, Kirstan, Kendall, Kandy, and Cruz (Kirstan's mom) came to visit also!
Grandpa Bill gave us all a presentation about his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and showed photos of them.  It was really special.  (Wish I had snapped some photos as he did.)
Time for treats from the real kitchen!  It was such a warm day (and our AC isn't working) that the lemon meringue pie became lemon meringue soup!!!  Oh well, it was yummy!!!
 Nate and Robert!
Must be a guy thing....they go out by the vehicles to talk!
And, since Bill was the guest of honor, he had the camera most of the time and isn't in very many photos!  Oh dear!
Is this the photo Nate took of Kendall?  I think that was the story!  He has now turned 14 and was ordained a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood.  So grown up.
All the gals giggle on the sidewalk!
Hi Cruz!  ('Hope that is how to spell your name!)
With a "Ta-da!" from Gabby, there is a photo of Bill---Yay!  Happy Father's Day, happy man!!!
Isn't Kandy getting so grown up?  She is about to turn 16, you know!  What a happy day!  After our guests left, we went to a special High Priest's fireside and shared some more lemon meringue soup.  It was a hit there, as well!  Bill glowed with happiness for days and days as he recalled the visits, calls, messages, gifts, and even a package from Hawaii with real combat boots and eye protector goggles, and drawings & crafts, too.  Thanks for helping his special day be joyful, all of you!!!

Thank you Diane for such a wonderful blog post and even more for helping my Father's Day to be such a special one. The pictures are wonderful. The phone calls, packages and notes meant a lot too. Hope that all our sons, and son-in-laws had a wonderful Father's Day too.
