The following quote has been of profound importance to us as we have pondered its meaning and applied it to situations in our life, and plans for the future. Bill especially has been moved by its simplicity and its great importance, and spent time creating copies on nice cardstock for our Primary class members as well as Home Teaching families. One family decided to frame theirs, and had a wonderful and spiritual discussion, treating it with much reverence. We have a great desire to share it also with each of you! Bill said, "If we spent our whole lives following just this quote, we would be all right. We would return to live with Heavenly Father. There are many who have done less than me as far as "success in the world" goes, who will be in the Celestial Kingdom, because success in the world is not what qualifies us for the Celestial Kingdom." We hope you will all be inspired, uplifted and re-motivated by this profound and true quote, as we have:
"When we reject the counsel that comes from God, we do not choose to be independent of outside influence. We choose another influence. We reject the protection of a perfectly loving, all-powerful, all-knowing Father in Heaven, whose whole purpose, as that of His Beloved Son, is to give us eternal life, to give us all that He has, and to bring us home again in families to the arms of His love. In rejecting His counsel, we choose the influence of another power, whose purpose is to make us miserable and whose motive is hatred. We have moral agency as a gift of God. Rather than the right to choose to be free of influence, it is the inalienable right to submit ourselves to whichever of those powers we choose."

Thank you Diane for posting this quotation. It is so representative of the foundation of my conversion. We choose basicly good or evil. For most of my early life my perception of the devil was that he was just something that people in churches made up to try to keep everyone in line. Once I understood that Lucifer was a real being, making the choice between one that wanted me to be miserable and someone that loved me and wanted me to be happy was an easy choice to make.
