This is our new dog, Honey-Bear. She is 4 years old, and the smartest dog alive, we think. She came with the name Honey, and we are trying out variations. So far, Honey-Bear fits the best.
She is both an inside and outside dog, (the guest bedrooms are off limits all the time to protect those with allergies). She is a golden retriever/chow mix, with a polka-dot toungue and solid build. She stays off furniture, is very well housebroken, and loves to be brushed. It is a good workout to help Diane's arms get strong again!!!
She has very talented eyebrows, and sometimes winks! She understands a lot of people-talk. And, you know, eyebrows are very important in the Sparks family!
She is also has her serious side. She is very obedient to "sit", "stay", "come", and "want to go for a walk?"!
She watches over the garden. (After all, where digging is a regular activity MUST be very important!) Here she is examining the young brocolli and the rosemary bush. I had a fresh-cut piece of rosemary that I rubbed on her coat after her bath. She loved it! She threw it in the air, then where-ever it landed rolled on it and rubbed her chin on it! Fun! Today she led me over to the area where we planted leaf lettuce. I hadn't been there since the hail shredded it last week. If she hadn't led me there, I wouldn't have noticed all the new growth for a while, since it is tucked away in a semi-shaded spot. All in all, we think she is a good addition to our family, a great companion, an excellent cat chaser-off-er (our apologies to cat lovers everywhere, but after all, we want to keep our song-birds too!), she doesn't eat the song-birds, and keeps us safe. She doesn't really care for certain scenes from our favorite movies about an English vet, but nobody's perfect!
