Even MORE snow in Show Low!!!

Peekaboo!

It is day 3 of being "snowed in", 3rd snow day off school (therefore no work for bus-drivers), and a little "cabin fever"set in. So, we bundled up and ventured out for a walk up and down our street this afternoon.

In some of our footprints, you can see the slushy water from the rain that fell between snowstorms. We expect the slush to become a treacherous layer of hidden ice by tonight when temperatures get below freezing. We are so thankful that we have not lost power so far, and our home has stayed warm and cozy. Bill called our Home Teaching families, and they are fine, too.

This is a view from the back porch, which fortunately stays fairly dry and clear for a few feet by the door. Don't you think the tree behind the workshop looks rather like the "ghost of Christmas yet to come" in Dicken's A Christmas Carol??? Eerie!

Bill and HoneyBear wave from down the street. Happily, there are tracks from the 2 vehicles which have ventured up our street today---makes it a lot easier to walk! Because of the snow plows doing their jobs as much as possible, the snow is much less deep in the street. We are again thankful that we didn't buy that home 7 miles out of town!!!

Those two lumps are the Jeep and Nissan! I was pleased with how warm I was in the snow-bibs and boots Bill got for me. It is a reassuring feeling that we have warm clothing in case power goes out for a long time. Preparedness means some different things here than in Mesa!!!

Here you can see where Bill has kept the Jeep accessible, shoveling after each storm around it and to the street. That is comforting that he always stays on top of that. Even more so thru these storms since I have been dealing with a small kidney stone this week. I am doing so much better now, so we don't think a hospital visit will be needed. But it was nice to know Bill was sure to keep the way out as accessible as he could. Thanks, Bill.

Right after we took these photos, Bill took care of that "Jeep Glacier" while HoneyBear and I went inside to warm up! Actually, for me, just my face was cold, but ice had formed on our dog's legs and underside. It froze into marshmallow-size balls! So I wiped up the drippy floor as she thawed, and she wanted to be outside more!!!

So, tomorrow will be another "snowed in" day, as the Stake Humanitarian R.S. day and Scout dinner have already been cancelled. We will see how Sunday goes. We will continue watching Netflix Walton's episodes, crocheting mittens for the humanitarian project, checking email and facebook, etc. We miss you all!
