Melina and Jonathan were able to visit a few days at the beginning of Christmas Break! What a nice way to start off our celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ---by playing with a baby and little child!!! A sweet visit with all of the family! Here, Bill distracts HoneyBear from her adoration of little Kiley by asking her to pose for a photo!
It was very much a mutual adoration society here!!! Baby fascinated with dog, dog adoring the baby! It took a little figuring out to find a way to let them adore eachother without Kiley getting handfuls of fur!!! You will see later in this post the solution that worked best!
Look! She sits, she crawls!!! The best kind of Christmas baby doll---a real one!!! She has grown so much!
It was fun to see Kiley hold onto and try to lug around this doll that is almost as big as she is!
This is the way they play together, play together, play together!!! They get along so sweetly! (most of the time, of course!)
Daddy Jonathan stretches out to watch his little darlings...
This is the way we pet the dog, pet the dog, pet the dog!!! HoneyBear absolutely loved it!
And notice the mesmerized look on Kiley's face! Raylin, older and wiser as she is, kept a healthy distance from the doggy, except when she chose to interact! Isn't she adorable---the big sister, full of love and wisdom!
This is the way we watch TV, watch TV, watch TV...Don't you love the little booster chair Raylin made out of cushions?!!! Hmm, Grandma Diane seems to be adoring little ones instead of watching the show!!!
Grandpa Bill gets his share of smiles, too!!!
"I like your shirt, Grandpa Bill!"
How fun it was to cook a little bit! Yummy blueberry waffle sticks! Don't get to do much cooking now that I'm working. Nice to get to. The pumpkin still didn't get made into fresh pies yet, but, oh well. Luckily pumpkins keep a long time...
Good job, Raylin! Grandma Diane holds the memory wire while Raylin puts the beads on...
Notice the intense concentration to choose the perfect next bead!
Aaah, pretty in pink, both Mommy Melina and babe! And what a handy teether a jacket hood makes!
If you don't see your favorite ornament on the tree this time, don't worry, we still like it, and the rest of them. And the tree will get fully decorated another year, we are sure. Read Pres Uchtdorf's talk about what matters most, and you'll see partly why some things just didn't get done this Christmastime as we made sure we saved energy for what mattered most this time: visits with family, friends, time with eachother, the scriptures, and to heal/recuperate for the months ahead. We are looking forward to more visits later this week with more family, too. And those who can't come visit this time, we still love you so much, and cherish the loving notes, cards, calls and messages we get to share with and from you.
Thanks again for the happy visit! And for bringing us some needed items from the Valley, to save us more time and energy---it helps so much. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
