Monster Icicles!!!

What happens when you have had a couple BIG snows, then many days of below freezing temps, then you suddenly have a sunny 40` day? Monster icicles!!! Do you see how some are like "stalactites", and some are like "stalagmites", next to the chair? So exciting when you hear a big "Kshshsh-WHUMP!" which means a huge hunk of snow just slid down the roof, and took some monster icicles with it!

And yes, Diane STILL is on crutches when not in the house. How long has this been? A month or more? Plus 2 weeks of hobbling before that. Inside, she is keeping it elevated as much as possible and only brief careful walking about on mostly thick carpet/padding allowed. Waiting for authorization for the MRI for the knee....the first test, an ultrasound, confirmed that the best-case scenario was not to be. This combined with multiple testings going on for some female things and also gastro-intestinal things means most of the Christmas decorations we have seen have been in dr.'s offices and hospital lab waiting rooms! And also that authorizations are slower in coming because there are so many all at once, they have to double verify I guess, or triple. Grrrrr. Anyway, not likely to be able to travel for any celebrations, Alas. All we want for Christmas (besides family visits) are: a diagnosis, and a cure!!! Please keep us in your prayers. Us & our heater too, please. (It keeps trying to go on a vacation, but keeps coming back on after a long wait & a prayer. Can't afford a repairman till Feb. Wait, this is beginning to sound way too complain-y---so sorry.)

Isn't it gorgeous?!!! The monster icicle currently residing on the east side of the sun-room window, AND.....
.....the west side of the sun-room window! Sooooo pretty! And this photo does not do justice to the lovely sparkly light coming through those icicles! A major hazard for the walkway, so they have to come down, at least some of them. So happy we were able to share some photos first!
And this is HoneyBear, with her stern look at Grandma Diane, communicating telepathically, "What are you doing standing around taking pictures? Get in here, sit down & put some pillows under that knee! And I'm not leaving your side till you take some pain medication & it is working. Do you hear me?" This from a doggy who is desperate to be outside on a run-around walk! She has been extra watchful over me, so has Bill---LOTS more than HoneyBear even. I am truly blessed. (By the way, once the prescription kicked in, she and Bill went off on walk, so she is OK. Isn't her thicker fur coat gorgeous as it is growing out?!)
