Nativity Poem, by Diane

These two Nativities were my centerpiece on the table during the Relief Society lesson I gave this last Sunday. Above is the one Amy's children made, and gave to us 2 years ago. Below is one my sister Patricia gave us 6 years ago, for Bill & my first Christmas together. Both are beloved and open such sweet tender memories!!!

This poem is to thank all those who have sparked lovely memories, by their contributions to my Nativity collection over the years. As we unpacked the ones packed away for Christmas decor, and added more to the always-on-display ones in the china cupboard, I felt inspired to write this: (please forgive the amateur nature of it!)

Why the Collection?

Nativities fancy!
Elegant and grand!
Nativities humble,
Made lovingly by hand.

Some painted, some carved,
Some molded from glass.
Why are there so many
In my home, you ask?

Because those who love me
Share in my zeal
For Jesus! His gospel!
His life! He is real!

His humble beginning
In animal's stall,
Was part of The Plan
To bless one and all.

Nativities are one way,
During each Christmas time,
To celebrate His birth
And His mission sublime.
