We love reading!

It is such a nice thing that we each love reading, to ourselves, to each other, to our children and now grandchildren! Bill and his parents enjoyed reading novels together when he was 10 to 12 or so, as well as their reading to him when he was young. One of his favorite memories of his Grandpa (who had been a coal miner) was when he read a Golden Book about coal miners to Bill's daughter Elizabeth at age 4. Bill had brought the book along on the visit, knowing a tender memory would come of it. Some of Diane's favorite memories of her childhood are of her Mother reading chapter-books to them at night and her Dad reading from the Book of Mormon in the morning from the hallway. And she has such fond memories of reading to her children as they grew, and now they love reading to their children. It was so fun when Heidi visited this past summer and we got to listen as she read from the Little House on the Prairie series to her children!

A note to our posterity for when we are old: (We know you think we are old now, but we mean in 20 years or so...) Remember to read to us! Scriptures, Boy's Life and Reader's Digest jokes, short stories with tender tears moments, stories and poems the children wrote for school, ... Just remember to read to us!
