This is the view from our camping area at the ward campout. There were a bunch of families behind our area, too. It was held at Sheep's Corral, not far from Sunrise Ski Resort. Beautiful location, great visits with ward members, an amazing bonfire that resembled a volcano.......so glad we got to go this year. We weren't feeling our greatest, so didn't go as early or stay as late as we'd like, but we are soooo glad we went! We got there around 6 pm on Friday, set up camp & fixed our dinner, and visited around the fire till late. Bill went to the Bishop's sunrise scripture study, we visited lots of folks, broke our camp, then visited more while we all huddled under a canopy during the rainstorm and headed for Green's Peak around noon. Then we drove through lovely scenery that led to Vernon, and home around 3:30. What a great way to spend a night and a day!
I have been missing the fir trees, quaking aspens and fern of Monroe Peak and Mud Flat, near Monroe and Richfield Utah, where my parents grew up, and we spent many happy summer vacations. I really enjoyed finding that somewhere in AZ has similar scenery! (The road here is not as "car-sicky"-winding and steep, as Monroe Canyon!) 'Wish my parents and siblings could have been here too!!!

Another lovely scene. We are seriously considering holding our next year's Family Camp somewhere along this route. Aaaah, this forest wonderland was cool and refreshing and beautiful!!!
