Gardening with Kandy and Kendall!!!

On May 8, 2013, Kandy and Kendall spent a day with us, helping to get our garden ready to plant.  The danger of frost here on our mountain is not over till the first week in June, so most things can't be planted until then.

Kendall does a great job digging a hole for a bush to be transplanted.

My little Mother's Day greenhouse!  We worked hard for a couple days before this to get it set up, and staked well.  It blew down during some very high winds in June, but helped us to keep some plants outdoors and ready to plant for a month!  We have a plan to set it up in a more wind-protected spot later in the year.

Ta-da!  The golden potatoes are planted in the first layer!

Kandy transplanting garlic chives for her very own container garden!

She later also started some carrot seeds in another pot.  Thanks, Kandy and Kendall!!!  Your help enabled us to get so much more done in one day than if we were doing it ourselves.  Besides, it was fun!!!
