Mormon Battalion & Dance Festival!!!

On June 4th, Bill was the narrator for the Mormon Battalion's presentation at the youth dance festival in the dome at Springerville-Eager. Did you know that there is currently an active Mormon Battalion, with units all over the United States? Well, there is! Bill has attended meetings whenever he can, and will be sworn in as a charter member at the next meeting. The video below is rather grainy because it is with our little camera from up in the stands, taken by our grandson Kendall. Thanks Kendall! Bill is tucked away in an area not able to be seen, where the microphone setup was. As always, didn't Bill do a great job of narrating?! The modern-day Mormon Battalion promotes patriotism, teaching & studying about our great country and its heritage. Our unit's Battalion commander is our friend and Stake Patriarch. This video has our granddaughter Kandy in it somewhere! They spelled out USA at the end of the dance festival. Very moving moment I was told. I was unable to be there because of the heavy smoke in the area as this was just 2 or 3 days before Springerville and Eager were evacuated because of the Wallow Fire. We believe the fasting and prayer that the youth participated in during the first day of their youth conference had a hand in Heaven's sparing of the two towns. Not even one home was burned. You can see the haze in these photos and video. The dance festival was the culminating event of their youth conference. It involved many LDS Stakes in our region.
