The Christmas tree for outside the capital building in Washington D.C. was chosen from near our town this year. Bill and other bus drivers delivered students to one school to be part of this big event. That is one huge truck & trailer!
Here is a long view of the truck & trailer with the huge tree carefully supported inside. The doorway on the left is so you can see the top of the tree. There are also a lot of more regular-size trees in there. They will decorate the many offices in Washington D.C. with them.
Before the speakers, the High School Choir sang. Some of our young friends from church are in the choir.
And the band played, too. Our Bishop is the band director.
The police were very helpful in helping students to write messages, as part of "Arizona's gift".This has been such a cool thing for our town and neighboring towns. There is a patriotic spirit in the air, which is nice for a change. It seems an appropriate way to spend the day before Veteran's Day, too.

At this site, there are also photos of the other places in Arizona the tree is visiting, before heading to our nation's capital. Finally, maybe some people in the United States will learn that Arizona does have places with pine trees---not just cactus and desert!!!

Some of the best-looking Christmas trees come from Arizona because the trees aren't so scrunched together there. Congratulations on a fun local event!
