Requiem for a Sunflower bush!

Alas, poor sunflower bush, you chose to grow in a spot where the gardener wanted veggies!


This GIGANTIC thing is one of those little scrubby but cute sunflower bushes you see along the highway----the weed type, not the big-headed bird-feeding type. It sure took advantage of Bill's excellently enriched soil to grow bigger than any little sunflower bush had a right to grow! Day by day it seemed to grow even as we watched! But it hogged all the sunlight and nutrients we wanted for its veggie neighbors.

We salute your efforts, dear sunflower! (Whack!)
